About Maxie

I learned astrology the slow way, before there was an app for anything. Pencil, paper, an ephemeris thick as a phone book, and my grandmother's kitchen table. She was the one who taught me the sky, and this site is named for her — Maxine, though everyone called her Maxie.

Fifty-odd years later I still start every morning the same way: I look at where the planets actually are, I write it down, and I tell you what it means in plain words. The arithmetic is done by the Swiss Ephemeris now — the same tables the professionals use — but the readings are still written the old way: one person, talking to you.

Everything here is free to read. The site earns its keep through the advertisements you may see here and there. That's the whole business model, and I won't pretend otherwise.
